Happy New Year Everyone!
Hello everyone and welcome back to school! We, in P3, hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and an amazing New Year.
We are now in to term 3 and have lots of exciting learning ahead of us. In term 3 Primary 3 will continue on with their maths and literacy. For maths we will be focusing on 2D and 3D shapes, as well as continuing to develop our multiplication and division skills. In literacy we are continuing to develop our use of VCOP through writing and story telling. We are going to learn lots of new grammar such as nouns, verbs and adjectives and we are going to start learning how to use joined up writing! :)
For our topic in term 3 we will be looking at our beautiful country in which we live, learn and play- Scotland! Primary 3 also have the responsibility of an assembly this term. It will be on Friday 16th February. As this is the date of the Chinese New Year, we have decided to use that as our focus. Luckily, for International week, we have some visitors coming in to teach us a little bit about China and even to learn some mandarin! This will link very well to what we are learning for our assembly. Everyone is very excited about this. We also have some great art lessons planned to help with our assembly- this includes making a dragon!
Finally, congratulations to all the primary 3's for learning their Scottish poem- Street Talk by J.K Annand. A special well done to the 3 finalists who done an amazing job performing their poem on stage in front of primary 1,2 and 3 and to Jennifer for performing it again at the assembly.
Lots of exciting things happening in term 3 and we are ready for the challenges ahead!
(and as always, we hope to have fun whilst we learn!)
